Open Question: Timeshare help? Can someone explain?
I dont understand what timeshares are. can you own ONE time share? what is ONE time share? when you rent a time share do you rent one or what? I need a thorough explanation! If I'm going to rent one, what does that mean, who do I rent it from, for how long can I rent it, etc. thanks! moreResolved Question: Timeshare Rental, what should i do?
We have two timeshares, one in Massanutten West Virginia ski resort, gold crown and a hospitality one at tablerock lake. I want to make some money off of it and rent it out, how do i go about doing this, and how much would i expect to make. What are the legit companies that help you out with it thank youi want to rent them out., moreResolved Question: Has anyone heard of a company called super timeshares resales inc. out of florida? ?
They want an upfront fee of $399. They claim they can "rent" my 154,000 wyndham points for $3,000. They are in Tampa. moreResolved Question: Hubby got a job in portugual, but its a Timeshare Salesman?
Hubby has been offered a job in portugal, good fixed salary and commission, and they have bought him a flight out there so he can meet the people at the company, and try out the job. Hes been told that timeshares are not what they were, and they are regulated now so people are not ripped off. He gets to stay within the complex, and the use of a pool car. We have two kids aged 4 & 6 that we would have to relocate out there. We rent at the moment so moving out there isnt a problem. Just scared really as not sure what to do for the best for our family. moreResolved Question: Good websites To rent timeshares or Vacation homes in Los Angeles ?
Any good websites? We are going in December For my Birthday. moreResolved Question: why do timeshare owners get so angry when informed they got ripped off?
when i try to inform people about the pitfalls of timesharing the owners of t-shares get all worked up.. but the facts are on my side .they keep on paying these ever increasing maintenance fees ,they pay extra when the company remodels they pay to trade ...they pay pay pay and what do they get in return the same thing a non owner gets if he stays in a luxury hotel at half the price.and if you choose not to vacation a non owner does nothing a t-share owner scrambles to try to rent it out...in support of my blog just go to ebay and check there are nearly 1000 timeshares up for bid with only a handfull of takers at a fraction like 95% of original cost of what the owner paid most have no bids and most are asking for just ONE DOLLAR.. moreResolved Question: Time shares? How do they work? I see that I can "buy" one for $4,999 (cheap) or rent it for $750...?
I was looking at one in Colorado that's for sale for $4,999 or for rent for $750. How do timeshares generally work? If I buy it, does that mean that I can go there whenever I want? That seems a little good to be true. moreResolved Question: Vacationing - what are some advantages and disadvantages of buying a timeshare vs renting a hotel room?
I went to a timeshare presentation a few weeks ago because I had an afternoon to kill and they gave me a complimentary bottle of rum (which I polished off that night to make up for the wasted hours of my life required to obtain it). It made me wonder how good a deal a timeshare really is, because NEVER in my entire life have I met salespeople so pushy and aggressive when marketing any other product. It made me think that if buying a timeshare is really as beneficial and lucrative as they claim, shouldn't it sell itself? They also wanted me to make a decision IMMEDIATELY ('I'm really not supposed to do this, but I'm making a special deal just for you"), without any consultation with my wife or a financial adviser. Is it possible to compare the timeshare vs hotel question to a home vs apartment question? It sounds similar (buy vs rent), but I'm not that familiar with timeshares. I just wasn't going to make a $50k+ decision without a bit of thought. Do you know anyone who has owned a timeshare? How has it worked out? moreResolved Question: Timeshare condo question?
If I have a timeshare condo, how do I rent it to someone if it's in my name? Kind of a silly question I guess. My problem is I'll lose my week by the end of September, but figured maybe I could make a buck off it by letting someone else use it. I'm just afraid when they check in that there will be a problem because it's in my name. Anyone know how these timeshares work when it comes to that? moreResolved Question: What is the best company to buy/sell, or rent the timeshare in vegas I just purchased? Thanks for your help!?
we recently purchased a timeshare at the Westgate Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV. I was contacted by Resort Equity Marketing sales rep. to list timeshare for rental. Does anyone have information on other companies that do this, experiences with renting timeshares in general, or any other advice. Thanks in advance for your help! moreResolved Question: Should I refinance my condo?
I bought my condo january 2007 using a fixed VA rate of 6.5%, property value has gone down. My goal is to rent this condo out and buy another one in the same complex. Is this a good time to refinance? The HOA is taking a second ballot of the homeowners again in 2-3 years to see if we agree to selling our units to timeshares when the market picks up again. Who should I go through to refinance.I have an excellent credit score thanks moreResolved Question: how is a timeshare such a good deal??
I've been looking at timeshares and I have a question. After I spend $7000-$8000 on a timeshare for a one week a year, then add on the fees for upkeep (another 400-600 bucks) how is that a deal? I can rent a condo that sleeps 6 for 80- 100 dollars a night. so, why buy a timeshare for 8k, then pay 600 a year for maintenance fees when I could just take what I'm spending on the maintenance fees and rent a condo for a week? am I missing something? because I just don't get it. moreResolved Question: I want to attend a few stages of the Tour de France in09,10 & would like to know the best resources to prepare
I love watching the TDF and finely told myself why not see it in person!! I have timeshares available to me around the world so I thought I would stage myself along the French Mediteranian and venture from there to watch a few stages. First thought was to train up to a town to watch a stage finish(or start). How close can I get to the finish line or is that proximity all for dignitaries and sponsors? I also would like to go to the Pyrenes to watch a mountain stage. I thought I may need to rent a van to overnight in. My understanding is that you need to get up the mountain early as they will close the route a good deal in advance. Has anyone had this experience? How early would one need to get up to get a good view point? Does anyone provide transport for fans? I visit www.letour and now understand that the route is anounced in October for the next year. What other sites can give me good insight to the tour, best airfare, trainfare, maps and schedules, etc.? moreResolved Question: Wanting to sell our timeshare unit, is Craig's list ok to do so?
We're at the crossroads of how to go about selling our timeshare. WE thought at the time it was a good investment but, with life changes that followed we were unable to put it to use. So, with that in mind, we've done the following things- Word of mouth, local paper, advertising co.(waste of $$, we did it twice), met with co. that claims to buy timeshares ( no $$ loss on that venture). WE may have to get in touch with the Resort and go through that way but, come on who wants to pay out 20+% depending on the agent you go through! So, is Craig's List the correct place to list this or Can you guys help us out and give us some suggestions on some REPUTABLE SITES to go through. I think I may check with our friend/Real Estate friend. Here's what I can tell you- Are particular unit is @ Sunrise Ridge Resort Pigeon Forge, TN just outside Gatlinburg/Smokey Mts. in Tennessee! though they have a total of 5 places to rent. CA, TX, FL. any other details contact me- detroiter1967@yahoo.com thanks! The market sucks right now it's defintely a buyers market! we may wait for the market to do better then try again later. WE've tried quite a few things like local paper, advertising co's, word of mouth and no luck! The Resort Rents it out but, we're not seeing any of that $$ and we are middle class and most of our friends/ family are on tight budgets due to the economy and other issues so, we can't rent it out ourselves. Thanks for the help so far guys! moreResolved Question: Getting rid of a TIMESHARE?
My parents bought several timeshares from several different companies and USED to use them ALL THE TIME. They traveled constantly. Due to health issues they can no longer do this AT ALL. I am trying to help them find a way to get rid of them, rent them...anything. Rather than just continue to pay maintenance fees every month. Their health is not good enough and one is now blind....to mess with this on thier own. They have tried a couple of times before and given Century 21 upfront money...etc....and never hear back....does anyone have any experience with this and can anyone offer any suggestions??? They (of course) willing t o GIVE THEM AWAY even......no one wants them though...lol...including me... moreResolved Question: How much do timeshares usually cost for Florida?
I recently stayed in a nice resort in Florida where they usually rent to Timeshare holders. I loved the resort. What do timeshares normally run costwise? moreVoting Question: Timeshare Exit Strategy?
Yeah - we feel rippped off. We've owned a Kuai KBV timeshare for years now (bought on our honeymoon). The maintenance fees started at $400 in 1997 and are over $1100 now. We can't even rent it for near that on RedWeek or Ebay. The timeshares lost pool access to adjoining hotel, lost their "gold crown" rating, plus fees keep going up year to year. I also hear that they may charge a special assessment fee soon to get back up to "Gold Crown" status. What is the best exit strategy? Does the loss of Gold Crown Rating Help the cause / hire a lawyer? I want to dump. Thank You In Advance. moreResolved Question: What is the best website to list timeshares for rent?
We have 3 weeks of timeshares on the island of Kauai, we need to rent them. There are so many sites, but I want to find the best one. moreResolved Question: Is it cleaner to stay at a hotel or rent a cottage/condo?
I want to go away in April possibly Florida 4 to5 days. I have been hearing a lot of disguisting things that go on in a hotel when it comes to cleanliness. I started thinking about timeshares for rent or condos, cottages etc. Does anybody know where its cleaner to stay. I want to stay somewhere for a 3yr old and ages 39 & 67. I thought Disney but I don't have a lot of money for the theme parks. Perhaps maybe 1 theme park. The beach is cool but I need something where transportation is provided and there are local attractions nearby. Any suggestions moreResolved Question: who can help me rent out my timeshare?
does anyone know of a good person or travel agent who helps people rent out there timeshares?? i have one in hawaii ohau oceanfront but i don't know how to get renters! i am in washington but would use anyone good no matter where they are. moreResolved Question: We have two timeshares in Cabo San Lucas Mexico, does anyone know the best place to sell or rent these?
One is with Playa Grande and the newest one is with Casa Dorada. We have been going to Mexico for about 4 years now and love it, but with our work schedules it is hard to take time off sometimes, and we are ready to start exploring other areas. I know that we could bank our time, but haven't totally decided. Let me hear what you think, please. Thanks for your time and input! moreResolved Question: Why do people pay thousands for timeshares when you get the same thing on EBAY for a dollar? What a scam?
Go to EBAY--- type in Timeshare. You will be SHOCKED to see what timeshares are selling for. These are Gold Crown (RCI) and 5 Star (II).(Very nice condos.) These are the same thing That The High Pressure SALES PEOPLE tried to sale you (Predominantly Orlando and other frequented vacation spots) for 10's of thousands. Heck, you can even go to travel sites such as Expedia and Priceline and rent the place for the same thing your maintenance and taxes would be anyway. It just a matter of time before Congress gets involved. I wonder how stupid people must feel when their timeshare is worth $100. However, The resort sales it for 15K. moreResolved Question: does anyone have timeshares at pelican St Martin for the week of 4/19/08 - 4/26 08 they would like to rent?

I am looking for information about car rentals and hotels. Are there any timeshares in Iraq? What about visiting the ruins of the tower of Babel? Is this a good site to visit. I was actually planning on a comprehensive driving trip through the entire Middle East. I would like to fly into Baghdad, rent a car, and then travel through Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Any information is appreciated.I am also interested in visiting Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebenon, and Sudan. moreResolved Question: What is the wedding ettiquette about gifts you don't want?
My fiancee and I have been engaged for a while, with no date set yet. Last year, his mother and her boyfriend told us that they already have our wedding present: the honeymoon. But not just any honeymoon. She recently bought a timeshare in Las Vegas, and with the timeshare got a pack of coupons for free trips to other timeshares around the world. Since then, she and my fiancee have become estranged for unrelated reasons, and they recently have been talking to each other occasionally, just small talk. But if the honeymoon comes up again, how do you tell someone you don't want their gift? Frankly, I want out honeymoon to be special, and not stressful. I don't want to go to some unknown timeshare property of unknown quality. I don't want the possibility of being subjected to a sales pitch as part of the free vacation. I'd rather go on a cruise or rent a house in the mountains. Thanks, lots of interesting opinions so far. Some things to note: FH just started working in a public service job where he will only get one week of vacation every 6 months, and can't take any longer until he gets more seniority. And there is no saying if our relationship with his mother will improve. Right now all it is is saying hi to her at family gatherings. moreResolved Question: RENTING a pet/ pet timeshares- what do you think about this?
Here is the story..... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070730/ap_on_bi_ge/rent_a_pet;_ylt=AovWUtr0Fa89v6JUyib0cxTq188FThere are some benefits to this, but it feels strange to me, especially the fact that it's a "for-profit" business moreResolved Question: Any 2-Bedroomed Apartments in San Francisco to Rent for a Week?
We will be visiting San Francisco for a week in October. We normally stay in timeshares or villa rentals when the trip is longer than a weekend. This will be our first time in San Francisco. Does anyone know of a two-bedroomed apatment rental for a week? We don't plan on hiring a car so would prefer Nob Hill, Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf area, but we are open to suggestions. We just plan on being tourists: Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Digital Arts Centre, maybe a theme park etc. All advice is appreciated. We are looking to spend $1,000 to $1,500 on accomodation for the week. moreResolved Question: Are the Venetian Bay Villages in Orlando a good place to stay?
I am taking a trip to Orlando in May to visit relatives. There will be 5 of us traveling together and we'd like to rent a condo or house. I understand that these are rental townhouses/condos/homes that other people own. But will we be required to attend one of those timeshare presentations if we choose to stay there?? So far I haven't read anything about timeshares, so it seems like a nice place - but I was just wondering if anyone knew otherwise. moreResolved Question: Is it a good deal to RENT a timeshare?
We were looking into taking a vacation to Cancun and the hotel prices are outrageous for the time we're looking to go. We found a site with some timeshares for rent, and the prices look like a great deal! Is there anything that we need to know about renting a timeshare? Like if they say it's $1200 per week, are there additional costs that apply or do we have to sign some contract? moreResolved Question: I have checked my budgeting habits look good but past vacations blew it no equity what to do?

I was on the aruba.com message board and someone offered me their timeshare villa for a week stay later this month. I would have to pay the person in advance so he could "change the certificate" to read my name for check-in purposes. Is this unusual? How can I know if he is for real? Do people usually rent out their timeshares, and if so, how does it work? Do you usually pay the person direct vs. the hotel you are staying at? Its at the Marriot Aruba Surf Club. moreResolved Question: Timeshares from RCI. Is it a good investment?
I was suckered into a Timeshare meeting while I was on vacation. The company that was offering timeshares was RCI. I did not fall into the sales rep sales tactic since it would be moronic to invest in something that I am not familiar. The presentation did get me thinking about a way of making residual income since the sales rep claim that RCI will rent out the timeshare if unused. Is this true or is Clark Horward right? moreResolved Question: Help finding best crm and erp?
I'm evaluating crm solutions and all crm/sfa seem to be missing the accounting side and customizable extranet side. ERP like netsuite is perfect buy way too costly for me as a start up. I need to have my web site and my customer management, lead management, accounting etc. connected. I need to have customer self service, along with web-to-crm form, web-question-to-case, newly signed on client (charged for membership) automatically sent to crm system and also sent to the accounting side. NetSuite is perfect, but way to costly. All of the rest I looked at (sugarcrm, right now, pivotal, hyper office.....) fit one or two of my needs but none fit all. The business is best described as "property management". I offer free listings to owners of timeshares and rent them out to vacationers and business travelers. I must account for the seller, the property and the renter. All on a low budget with quick and easy start up... anyone have the miracle answer for this.??? moreTop Timeshares For Rent Links
