Writing Music is a Learning Process of Life. Every composition is a process involving people, technology, creativity, storytelling and experience design.
2011 – 2014: Using a single instrument to depict a single story of emotional experience and development allows introspection and exploration of the deepest personal experiences. This can teach how subtleties and nuance of change can have significant effects on an individual’s experience.
2007 – 2011: Writing music to moving images involves spending time understanding the people and situations depicted, then using technology to apply emotional movement to a scene and underpin the developing stories.
1997 – 2004: A studio youth amongst digital sampling stimulated a fascination for cutting up existing material and reordering the sounds to fit their new context. I still like breaking things down to their constituent elements and bringing them together in new forms and I have learnt to see new opportunities of change where the situation might usually be seen as well-defined.
